Christmas Card #13 | MFT

Hi everyone! When I first tried out the screen ink together with the beautiful art screen 'wood' I had the idea of this card which I am showing you today.

I made a whole set with 6 cards in total because I will need them for family members. So I cut down pieces with 11 x 11 cm (4,3 x 4,3 inch) and used the art screen and screen ink like a stencil. After letting it completely try I put gold foil on top of it and ran it through my Minc machine. I also tried a background using minc paper from the 5th avenue collection.

Then I diecut frames out of gold glitter cardstock using the second largest die from the 'stitched square scalloped frames' from My Favorite Things. I also used the same die to cut the inside of the frame out of white cardstock.

Then I stamped the cute images from 'deer friends' (MFT) with lawn fawn ink pads. I also added the small sentiment from the 'mini messages' stamp set (Mama Elephant).

To add more interest I diecut white birch trees with the MFT die, adhered them next to the deer and ran the whole square piece again through my Big Shot using the same square die as before - so that I have the same edges for the trees as well.

After that I adhered everything to a craft cardbase!
So happy that the cards turned out exactly the way I wanted to :)

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Christmas Card #12 | Mama Elephant

Hi there! Aren't those sheep from Mama Elephant the cutest??! I tried to create a little story with my 12th Christmas card - a little sheep which was late with all the Christmas preparations and knitting Christmas stockings. So it is currently finishing the last stocking (apparently under stress) while the presents are ready and the other sheep is tensely waiting for the stocking to be finished :)

Thank you for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Mr. Dracula | MFT & LF | Lawnscaping Challenge #140

Hi there! Halloween is right around the corner so I decided to make a last card inspired by the color scheme Lawnscaping challenge no. 140.

(In reality it's far more purple than on the photo :-( )

I did a bit of masking for the background because except for the vampire the whole scene has only one layer.

To mask off the ground I diecut one of the 'landscape trio' dies from Mama Elephant and created a diy mask. I did the same process to mask off the moon. For the sky and earth I blended distress inks (earth: ground espresso and black soot; sky: milled lavender, wilted violet, chipped sapphiere and black soot).

The other images I colored in with the Gansai Tambi watercolors. Beside the two colors purple and black I decided to use a blueish grey.

After everything was dry I added some stars with opaque white and adhered the dracula with a small action whobbler to the card to create more interest.

Last but not least I adhered the whole scene to a silver cardbase (I used silver because I ran out of grey ones and it was the perfect color to create a little bit of contrast but not distract from the actual scene).

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Hallo Kleines (Hello little one) | Mama Elephant

Hi there! Between all the Christmas cards I needed a baby card for my sister to give to a friend. I decided to make one extra card for my stash too.

On of my favorite baby stamp sets is 'new family' from Mama Elephant. I teamed it up with the 'calli letters' set to create a pretty sentiment.

I used Copic markers to color in the adorable images and diecut the piece of paper with MFT 'stitched scallop basic edges'. After that I adhered a pattern paper from MFT 'homespun gingham' to a metallic card base and adhered the diecut piece with foam tape to the rest of the card.

Last but not least I added some clear droplets and the cards were all done :)

Thank you for stopping by and have an awesome day!

Christmas Card #10 | Mama Elephant

Hello crafty friends! I am finally back after just about an eternity :-) . You know that I am a huge Mama Elephant fan and with the October release they surpassed themself! So for this Christmas card I used the new stamp sets 'Pix' Happy Holiday' and 'Merry Mantle' combined with older ones 'Christmas Scene' and 'Mini Messages'.

I started with the background which I created by blending the distress colors dried marigold and wild honey. I also sprinkled water droplets for more interest.
Then I stamped the images with Memento tuxedo black and colored them in with Copics. I wasn't sure at first if the colors would go well with the orange background but in the end I think it turned out as a very interesting color combo :-)

I diecut the images (or fuzzy cut them because I don't own all the dies) and adhered them to the background. I added the small sentiment and some Nuvo drops (pink champagner, honey gold, morning dew) to the bows of the garlands and the ornament.

Last but not least I adhered the whole scene to a white cardbase.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!
