Modern Christmas | Mama Elephant

Hello there! Two more Christmas cards to share with you. This year I really enjoyed making holiday cards! There were so many great products from awesome companies. I hope to be able to use those products for non-Christmas cards too...

(Unfortunaltey the ligth wasn't so good, and with the flash it's very shiny ;) )

here is a photo with using the flash:)

Today I want to show you a more modern and untraditional design. I really like teal colors combined with violet or purple. So I used the color numbers 38 and 57 from the Kuretake Gansai Tambi 36 Color Set to create my background. I also added shimmer with number 95.
With one of the awesome next level embossing folders I embossed a piece of silver cardstock and adhered it to the background.

I decorated the tress from the Mama Elephant stamp set 'Christmas Scene' with some ornaments from the same set and colored them in with Copic markers. I added some pearls to the teal tree. After that I cut them out and adhered them to the background. I also stamped the 'Merry Christmas' from the 'Christmas Spirit' set because I love the size of this particular sentiment. It worked great on many of my Christmas cards!! For the sentiment I used the archival jet black ink because I stamped directly on watercolor and therefore I wanted to use a waterproof ink.

To finish up my card I scattered clear and marshmallow Pretty Pink Posh sequins and clued the paper to a silver cardbase.

A very different card in comparison with the scenes I made before but I really enjoy trying out different things and learning from the card making process :)

Thank you for stopping by and have a nice weekend!!

True Meaning of Christmas | WPlus9

Hi everyone! I'm still enjoying making Christmas cards. There are so many awesome products and inspirations out there that I have many ideas left!!
Today's card features the stamp set 'Drummer Boy' from WPlus9 which I really love because it's very different from other sets and it has beautiful sentiments too.

The card design is very simple but I wanted to create this little scene because it's so cute with the critters and the little baby.
So for the background I used Mama Elephant dies and colored them in with Distress inks with an ink blending tool. I stamped the little images and used my copic markers to make them alive. After fuzzy cutting the pieces I adhered them to the background and added the sentiment as well as sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Last but not least I adhered the scene to a dark green cardbase. So, as I said, a very simple card showing a sweet little scene!!

Thank you for stopping by and I'll see you soon!

Merry Christmas | Altenew

Hello! For todays card I tried a (for me) new stamp company: Altenew. I really love their layered stamps; therefore, I bought three sets, I think from their newest release, and started with 'Winter Cardinal'. However, I stamped the image at least five times but the impression has never been totally smooth. Maybe the paper I used was not ment for stamping, I don't know. I still like the stamped image and I am not too concerned about the crisp looking base layer because the feathering of a bird isn't that smooth  :) Using a Misti stamping tool would make it much easier too because you can restamp the image very easily and get a nice finished look.

I used four different Lawn Fawn inks for the bird: Mermaid, Hippo, Peacock and Fish Tank (in that order). For the branch I went with the Doe color and for the berries I used Lobster for second generation stamping.

I wanted the bird to be the main focus of the card so I chose a very tiny sentiment from the 'Mini Messages' stamp set from Mama Elephant and scattered some sequins. To make the card more elegant I adhered the piece of white cardstock to a teal glitter paper.

The finished card is 10,4 x 10,4 cm (4,09 x 4,09 inch). Although it is not perfect, I really like the result and I'm looking forward to using the other stamp sets!!

Thank's for stopping by and have a nice weekend!!
